New Vintage*Palette Auction......Miss Candy Corn Queen

This little candy corn cutie is one of my favorites! I painted her on a canvas print that I found at the local thrift shop! The frame was already the right color so I didn't have to do a thing to it.

I painted over the print with acrylic paints and Miss Candy Corn Queen was born! She has real german glass glitter added to her crown and on her dress to make her sparkle in the moonlight!

I hope you have time to stop by and take a peek at her eBay auction before she ends on Friday June 6th at 9:00pm.

I kind of let that day sneek by without posting about it here.........LOL When you get this close to that huge milestone, you tend to want to forget rather than remember! hahaha!!! Halloween Grandfather Clock on EBay......

Last night I listed this cute little Halloween Grandfather Clock on EBay.....

I just love the glitter covered pumpkin that sits on top.............

I know it's hard to see, but I painted a tiny little pumpkin face on the brass pendulum....

What fun it was painting the little hand painted glasses with the green eyes peering out at you...........

I had so much fun painting this little clock! It would make the perfect addition to your larger scale Halloween Doll house since it measures 8 1/2" tall. Or just set it on a shelf with your other favorite Halloween decorations.

HaPpY 24th Birthday Morgan!

OH MY!!! I remember that day! No clothes are comfy except those mumu type dresses that don't compress your lower bulging abdomen. The swollen ankles (note the slip on slippers). That pressure feeling that you always have to go to the bathroom even though you just did! The feeling of being a beached whale and wondering if you will EVER be able to wear a pair of jeans again.........LOL! This picture was taken sometime during late April or early May. I was miserable, on bedrest since I was 6 1/2 months pregnant, not supposed to do housework or go up and down the stairs but only once a day. The couch was my home.........I think that's why I still like to sleep there! hahahaha!

Fred, Me and baby Morgan. Our first family picture taken at my mom and dad's house. (Notice I'm still wearing the loose dresses since there was no possible way to fit into anything but maternity clothes!)

Awwwwwwwww..........she was about the size of a cabbage patch doll which was the rage back then in 1984. She weighed 6 lbs. 11 oz. and was only 19 1/2 inches long. Our little real live dollbaby that we had waited a long 7 years to get and went through so much heartache along the way...........

Her first birthday party, May 10th, 1985. Oh and I finally fit into jeans due to pretty much going on the starvation diet, LOL!

It seems like it was just yesterday. Where does the time go? And now I'm watching her daughter (Jadyn) grow up way to fast. I realize that before I know it, she'll be grown too...........*sniff* *sniff*
Jadyn's 2nd Birthday pics.........

So Happy 24th Birthday Morgan and Happy Mother's Day to all of you Mom's out there! =D

Hugs! *Nana Lori

My Friend JoycEE's Skills!

On Tuesday............Joyce, Brenda, Jadyn and I had a girls day out. We went to see Joyce's mural that she painted in the Dover Public Library. I had only seen pictures of it before so I have been wanting to go and see it in person and to see it in person is absolutely breathtaking! I can't imagine painting or drawing anything on that grand of a scale.............or standing on scaffolding to paint it. I'm just i awe.................................

Joyce with her mural.........

Jadyn looking at the fish reading a book in the chilren's section mural........

Being her usual little ornery self! I love this pic.........LOL

Brenda and JoycEE strike a pose in front of the chilren's mural. It's pure magic!

JoycEE, Jadyn and I.........

What a magical place to read a book!

JoycEE and Jadyn.........=D When Jadyn first laid eyes on the first mural and I was pointing out all the things in the mural to her, she said, "WOW JoycEE! Good Job!" We giggled over that one. It was just too cute the way she said it!

We then left the library to eat lunch. After that was a stop at the new material shop in New Philadelphia, then off to Riverfront Antique Mall to look for vintage goodies. JoycEE used to work there and she guided Brenda, Jadyn and I to all the interesting booths! Antique mall rules are that all small children must be strapped into their strollers, so the whole time Jadyn was saying, "I want out. Help me.......JoycEE help me!" We giggled until we almost peed our pants! LOL

What a fun day! Next time, we're going to go visit Brenda and she's going to show us all the awesome places that she likes to shop at and of course a stop at Starbucks!!!!! I can't wait to go!

Until then...................
