Paintings on Vintage Ceiling Tin Tiles......

I thought I would share with you some of my past work. I love painting on these vintage ceiling tin tiles! It's like painting on a framed canvas.....only with tons more character and vintage charm! I have to buy them on Ebay because I can't find them anywhere around here. I just love to think of where they might have come from. They come to me with chipped paint (which I absolutely LOVE) and lots of coal dust and grime, since most of them were the ceilings in old stores where little coal stoves were the only source of heat. Just think.........if only they could talk and share their stories with us!

This first one was a very large 24 inch square tile and I painted a vintage postcard scene of this little pumpkin witch...........

This next one was a fall swap in my PFATT (Primitive Folk Art Tea & Talk) group. It went to Andrea of Rubymoon Primitives. I remember how excited she was to get it and she told me that she danced around the room showing him off to her family! (I miss you Andrea!)

This one is one of my favorites! She's an Ellen Clapsaddle vintage postcard design. I loved the deep embossed design on this one! The man that I bought my tins from used to bid on my painted tiles and this is one that he won back. I was so glad that he won it back! He has quite a collection now!

And this was my very first hand painted tin. Another Ellen Clapsaddle postcard was the inspiration for this one and she was my highest selling Ebay item of all time.......my one and only! LOL

This last tile was my very first Easter Swap for the PFATT group. And yet another Ellen Clapsaddle postcard..........can you tell that I love Ellen's paintings?

I hope you enjoyed my little trip down memory lane. I need to dig some more tins out and start painting them again. I go through these fazes........I get so easily bored with doing alot of the same things, so my art seems to go in cycles. Aren't all artists like this though???? =D

Hugs! *Lori
